Freedom Walk Hero Stones
Freedom Walk at Camp Gold Star is to recognize, honor, and say THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE! to any military veteran and/or First Responder, past or living.
The Freedom Walk is a six-foot wide, by 1,860 feet long walkway. Approximately 973 feet of the meandering walkway is along the waterfront of the San Joaquin River (see highlighted Freedom Walk map above).
Each engraved Hero Stone is 16-inches tall, by 16-inches wide, by 3-inches thick and weighs over 80 pounds. The 6-foot-wide Freedom Walk will be comprised of three Hero Stones wide with surrounding paver stones and stretch for approximately 1,860 feet.
You can access our Hero Stone builder by clicking on the "Design Stone" button below and see exactly what your Hero's Stone will look like. You can personalize your Hero's Stone by adding Branch of service, Rank, Name, Birth year, Death year (if applicable), Select 3-inch service medallion, and up to two lines of personalized text.
All Hero Stones will automatically have THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE! engraved on them and a unique stone number in the lower right-hand corner of the stone assigned by the manufacture.
If you wish to honor more than one Hero and want the stones to be close to each other, please be sure you design and save each Hero Stone to the shopping cart before you process your order. This will ensure the Hero Stone numbers are sequential.
All Hero Stones ordered will ship directly to Camp Gold Star to be placed in the Freedom Walk. Two-three days after you place your Hero Stone order, you will receive a conformation email with a Hero Stone Certificate that entitles you to a lodging discount when you visit Camp Gold Star to see your Hero's Stone in the Freedom Walk.
